Patient-Centered Cancer Care

The Hillman Cancer Center at Northwest carries a big name with an important focus on patient-centered care. For many, a cancer diagnosis can be financially devastating. With support for travel to chemotherapy appointments, specialized programs to reduce depression and anxiety, and the most advanced technology available, patients can focus on getting well.

Some recent patient-centered cancer care programs include:

• Eight-week home-based yoga study for cancer patients.
• Oncology fund that has provided the latest technology for area residents, including the recent purchase of the Olympus Narrow Band Imaging (NBI).
• Sponsor Annual Cancer Awareness Week and Survivors Celebration Picnic

With this home-based program, we go at our own speed and do what we can. It’s difficult to get out to other programs. Doing yoga at home works for me.
